Assem Kamel is a serial social entrepreneur and an influential leader in sustainable and socio-economic development, with over 20 years of experience driving innovation, entrepreneurship, and inclusive growth across Africa, the Middle East, and beyond.

He is the founder of several high-impact platforms and companies including SEKETAK Egypt (incubator and accelerator), The LEE Experience Lebanon, Sunup Tunisia, Vitas Misr for Microfinance, Zowada Mobile Apps, and LEE Digital Media Hub, each designed to empower entrepreneurs, build innovation ecosystems, and deliver transformative social and economic outcomes.

Assem is a strong advocate for digital transformation, inclusive entrepreneurship, and market access. He has led and co-designed major development programs in partnership with DFIs, UN agencies, the EU, USAID, regional governments, and private sector leaders. His work equips startups and MSMEs to scale sustainably, integrate into global value chains, and access regional and international markets.

Throughout his career, he has contributed to national and regional policy reforms that support SME competitiveness, youth employment, innovation, and resilient economic models. His collaborations have resulted in successful cross-border initiatives focused on technology adoption, trade facilitation, and sustainable investment.

Assem holds an MBA in Marketing Management and is a Private Equity Masterclass candidate at the American University in Cairo (AUC). His expertise spans strategic marketing, impact-driven business scaling, startup acceleration, private-sector development, and investment readiness.

With a strong academic, advisory, and entrepreneurial background, he has:

• Trained and coached more than 10,000 entrepreneurs

• Supported over 1,000 startups in the agri-food sector

• Successfully incubated 66 social enterprises aligned with the UN SDGs

He is certified by the ILO, UNDP, and GLG, and serves as a regional licensee for Leadership Management International (LMI) programs. Today, Assem continues to champion innovation, strengthen entrepreneurship ecosystems, and build sustainable economic opportunities that empower people, businesses, and communities in emerging markets.
